About the Author
I grew up in the northwest of England, on the edge of the West Pennine Moors and within an hour’s drive of the beautiful national parks of the Lake District, Peak District, and other areas of natural and historical significance. Much of this has inspired the settings and buildings within my books, although with a fair amount of geographical and historical jiggery-pokery to fit the needs of the stories.
That these books exist is all thanks to my sister. During the Covid pandemic she read a few short stories and dusty starting chapters, during the first easing of lockdown, whilst partaking of some lovely walks in the local countryside and, with her encouragement, my first books were born.
I love books and reading across many topics and genres and have a huge collection, which unfortunately currently largely resides in boxes, not a lovely two-storey library with wheeled ladders to zoom along the shelves.
I am also a dabbler in all things craft. Many of those books are historical ‘How To’s’ from anything from joinery to crochet. A lack of any workshop space hinders the woodworking in all but an armchair capacity, but knitting, sewing, crochet and embroidery have had more success, mostly as they can be completed whilst sitting in that armchair.
After twenty years of exploring different parts of the UK, I now live with her husband and cats, five minutes from where I grew up.
